Flood Update of Punjab Rivers (Chenab, Jhelum, Sutluj and Ravi)

Lahore (Sunday, September 7th, 2014) – According to news report the flood record of almost 22 years has been broken at the Head Marala on Chenab River. This flood water will travel to Head Khanki and Qadir Abad. Then It will goes to Head Trimmu.

River Jhelum is also in high flood at mangla and Rasul. Rasul Head Works id located in the district of Mandi bahauddin. This flood water takes almost 72 hours to reach at the destination of Trimmu barrage in District Jhang.

River Chenab:-

Marala Head Works = 560000 Cusecs

Khanki Head Works = 910000 Cusecs

Qadirabad Head Works = 775000 Cusecs

Trimmu Head Works = 125000 Cusecs

River Jhelum:-

Mangla Dam = 100000 Cusecs

Rasul Head Works = 185000 Cusecs

River Ravi:-

On Saturday River Chenab was at Very High Flood at Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad.

River Jhelum was also in high flood at Mangla and Rasul

Head Trimmu Jhang (Chenab River) Flood Update 2014

Jhang / Trimmu Head Works / 18 Hazari (Current Update), Sunday, September 7th, 2014) – Today in River Chenab  at the location of Qadir Abad Barrage Moonsoon Flood Water Level was very High. It was more than 8 lac cusecs. At Khanki Ity was also at 7,00,000 Cusecs of Water flow. Qadir abad is located between Hafizabad and Mandi Bahuddin cities.

Trimmu Head Works is next point whre river Chanab reached. It is located in District Jhang. Malhoana More is at one side of Trimmu Head and at other side Athara Hazari town is located.

DCO Jhang Mr. Khuram Shehzad has announced that flood of river chenab will reached at Trimmu tonight. He said the area of 18 Hazari will be vacated today evening. It likely that the Flood Protection Bund will be broke near 18 Hazari.

Monday September 8th, 2014

Time  10:00 AM

Water Flow = 1,65,000 Cusecs. It was rising. t is expected that it will reach t5 Lac tonight. At Chiniot Bridge 8 lac Cusecs water is flowing.If  it will in dangerous condition then protection line toward Athara (18) Hazari will be blown up.

Tuesday, September 9th, 2014

Time  10:15 AM

At Trimmu Barrage flood water flow is almost 3 lac Cusecs. Water level is continuously rising. It is expected that it will reached at 7,00,000 Cusecs within next two days. Flood has entered into Bhawana City. Athari Hazari City has been vacated on the order of NDMA and Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Trimmu Barrage (Jhang) /Flood Update / Tuesday, September 9, 2014 – Punjab Province has vast system of canals and barrages. This is known as agriculturist land. Irrigation system is backbone of agriculture of the province.

There are five big rivers. That is why it is known as “Punjab”. It mean the land of five waters (rivers).

Rivers Indus, River Jhelum, River Chenab, River Ravi and River Sultuj are the Names of big source of water.

Trimmu Head Works is located in the middle of Punjab Province. It is located in District Jhang. This city is also known for the famous classical folk lore “The Heer Ranjha”.

River Jhelum and River Chanab merged at the point of Trimmu. Trimmu Barrage was built in British rule from 1936 to 1938 AD.

Some  5 kilometers of the Barrage a famous town and Tehsil Head Quarter id located. It is called Atrhara (18) Hazari. In the 1992 Flood this area also faces water and badly affected after the broken of protection bank.

Athari Hazari is located at 30 Kilometer of distance from Jhang City.

Jhang/Trimmu Head (Breaking News / Flood Update (Wednesday, September 10, 2014) – At midnight the flood water flow at the Trimmu Head works was more than 5 Lac Cusecs. Lot of pressure is being faces on the protection banks (Bunds) of Jhang and Athara Hazari.

Both the rivers of Chenab and Jhelum are in high flood levels.

At about 02:00 AM water overflow from the Vijhlana on Bhakkar-Multan-Kabir Wala Road. It is almost 7 Kilometers away from the Jhang Saddar/City. Activities are underway to fill the breach of the “Bund”. It is very essential otherwise water of flood will enter into the Jhang city soon.
